Range report: model 14 6 inch. vs. 8 3/8 inch.
Went very well today! With my new to me 14-3 8 inch I shot pretty good! Did not need to change sights at all. The main thing though that I wanted to compare is my 14-3 6 inch barrel gun to it. I love to shoot my model 14's I do own a 14 no dash but it dont get out to the range but a couple times a year. The model 14's sure make me look good shooting. No noticeble difference in accuracy between the 2 different barrel lengthes was appreciated. The first picture on the left is at about 18 yards or so my range has no markings. I shot the target on the right with the 14-3 6 inch in both cases and the longer barrel new to me gun I shot on the left target. Back to back with 158 grain lrn 4.5 grains hp38 in the first and closer pictured to the left. Then i ran it all the way back to approximately 25 yards for second set. I wasnt 100% today and both guns can shoot way more accurate than i can standing off hand but the results show both are keepers! I used swc bullets in the 25 yard set of targets looks like maybe the longer barrel paid off on the left target at 25 yards.I did do some shooting in between the 2 sets so the targets are a little beat up after covering those shots between tests. I couldnt help my self just really enjoyed shooting that long tube!!

Great experiment. You're fortunate to have both. Thanks!

Did you notice the milder recoil with the long barrel?
