Default Model 28-2 nickle refinish??

I recently came into a Model 28-2 that had been nickle plated by a previous owner and whoever did it did a poor job. I would like to have the nickle stripped of and the original blue redone.I have a letter from S&W stating that it was shipped with a blue finish. Can anyone suggest someone who can do the work without having to take a 2nd mortgage on my house. Thanks.

Welcome to the Forum.

Have you tried asking S&W about a refinish?

You can to Fords in crystal river florida. and download a retail pricing sheet in pdf. $40 to strip nickel with a refinish and $225 for matte blue so their basic set up is under $300. The $350 would be strip and bright blue refinish which they do excellent work. Gun would be like brand new for that. The give free estimates too!

I have a new unshot m29-10 in blue I purchased for $699 I really wanted a nickel finish. I also have a m28 I'd like in nickel too. I'm not sure how much s&w charges wasn't it around $200. Who's nickel finish is better.
