Default Model 15-4 Nickel with 2" barrel - How scarce??

Came across a person selling a 2" Model 15-4 with what appears to be a factory nickel finish. He does not have the box and the original stocks are gone.

Looks like it has some handling marks, but nothing serious and no flaking, etc.

The seller does not know what the current retail value is, and I have not seen a 2" before. I see the catalog states 20% premium for 2" and 20% more if factory nickel finish.

Thoughts on realistic value?

No idea what the actual market price is but I recently
picked up a 15-3 in pristine condition, but no box or
docs or tools, with 2-inch barrel for $550.

Too much, too little, just right? I don't know except
I wanted it! And I don't even like nickeled revolvers.

These are not rare, or even what I would term scarce, but definitely sought after and not easy to find.

In my observations (not scientific but tiring ) there seems to have been a fairly large proportion of nickel 2" 15s produced, relative to blue ones. At least they come up for sale - perhaps the blue ones don't? $550 is a good price for one with the box, so slightly worn finish, no box and replacement stocks may go for slightly less. Good luck in your decision.

Default Nickel M-15

UncleEd I'm like you, not a big fan of nickel. That said I just pick another one up, boy do they look nice cleaned up

IMHO a nice one in the box will command a premium price, $750+ but one as you described around $500 plus or minus. Neat little snubs that have a look all their own. I like them.
