South of the border flavor
This is a Model 10-5 that i obtained from a south Texas Constable. He stated that this was his parade, bbq, re election revolver from the 1960's.

The holster and engraving is definetely Mexican artistry.
Gaudy to me,but I saw it on every Mexican Detective I worked with.

Nice looking combo. To me, the stocks/grips are unique in that they are more detailed than the ones I recall coming across years ago in the border towns. However, the possibility does exist that I wasn't frequenting the higher end shops.............Hummmmmm hardcase60

Well at one time, the Texas panhandle extended up into our ranch in SE Wyoming. I guess that kinda explains my likin' that kind of rig.

Iggy,
I have a large framed copy of a map of the Republic of Texas as it was in 1845 which shows that relatively narrow strip of land that extends northward from NM up through Colorado into SE Wyoming. The map is hanging on the wall in our living room here in west Texas. Nice to know that we have "roots" in the Republic of Texas! I think we'd both have enjoyed living in it during the mid 1800's! I'm bettin' there were very few "suburbs" back then ...

Kthom, that panhandle came up over the top of that distant bluff about half a mile. That's Como Bluff a famous dinosaur fossil site. The Transcontinental ran right along the face of that bluff too. That bluff is about 20 miles away.
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid blew up a train about 3 miles to the left of this picture.
Still ain't many suburbs in that area today.

Yup, one day ol Pecos Bill come ridin' into Medicine Bow on that panther of his, he hung that Diamond Back rattler he used as a whip around the saddle horn and run into the Virginian Hotel and asked for a pint of whisky.
He drank it down in one gulp and started out the door.. A feller asked him what his hurry?
He said "I heard that mean old Iggy is lookin' for me and I got to git out of here." He got on that panther, whupped it up with that thar snake and headed south.
Never was seen in these parts agin.
