Default K22 to M53

Would a K22 cylinder fit a model 53?
The model 53 22 LR cylinder is scarce as a loose item.
If it would fit a person could ream it to many different wildcats. Since the model 53 has a dual rimfire/centerfire hammer?
Thanks

Default NO!

That would be too easy! Do you think S&W would actually make it that easy? A K22/mod 17 cylinder is 1.62" long and the Mod 53 is 1.67" long. The cylinder you need is a mod 19 not bored for any caliber(good luck)! The hammer isn't the only difference, the frame has two firing pins also.
