Default S&W model 29 that shoots .410 ?

While talking to a buddy of mine yesterday he stated that while watching the Military Channel they talked about a model 29 that was used during the Vietnam war by our troops that would chamber a .410 shotgun shell.

He stated they would be used in the underground tunnels and would have less impact on the ears versus using a .45 1911.

He said they showed either an example of one or a photo of one and the barrel was very short.

Has anyone seen one of these or possibly own one that could show a photo?

Or did my buddy hear/see things

Thanks in advance for any info.

Masterbuck do a Google search on S&W Tunnel Gun.
It was a 29 but did not shoot 410 it used a special cartridge.
