That is so nice. The gun and the sentiment. Made me smile and I'm not even from Texas.

It's getting harder to comment on guns like that, because there are only so many superlatives available.
So I won't use any...I'll just say thanks for showing that to us.

You might research "depth of field" it could do wonders for you photography.
If are shooting off a tripod ( I presume that you are) stop the camera down to F22 or 32 by increasing the length of exposure (your in-camera light meter will tell you) to about one second or more. Focus in between with manual focus, you can see the range through the view finder. You will be amazed at what you can get in focus.
I've suspended posting pics for the time being as I won't pay the hold-up fee for photo!ucket

Richard that is the best looking Combat Magnum I've ever seen. Just love the inlay on the S&W stamping...and those stocks too!

The thing I see wrong with it is that its too nice to leave alone at home. It means it would need to go with you everywhere, or you'd just refuse to leave. Nice gun.
Now I've gotta go to the gun room and fondle mine for a while.

Don't think I'd holster it. Fine gun, grips, and collection to be part of. Thanks for sharing.

... Just throwing this one to the top one more time to see if any of you have any thoughts on who the engraver might be???
I've been over every inch of this gun, as has the prior owner, and we could not find any kind of engraver's mark...
A couple more photos with an appropriate box:
