In really good condition I'd be a buyer at $350. If I really wanted another one....maybe $425 or so. Really depends on where you are. What are they going for on the auctions?

I never see 2" 64s in the St Louis market. I suspect an early model in good shape would fetch $525 or perhaps more.

In "good condition " could mean a lot of things to a lot of people. Condition means a lot in value, especially toward the higher end of condition. Posting pictures would help a lot in getting a more accurate value.

Back when our police department carried model 64's they had 4 inch heavy barrel with square butts for general issue to patrolmen and three inch with a round butt for detectives. But no 2 inch were issued at that time. I don't think I've ever run across a factory one . Is it a RB or SB, could be a market for it. How much is the asking price?
Photo's will help also.

Round butt. Factory except for grips. I installed nice Ahern grips on it will try to get a picture up soon. Only has 64 stamped in the crane no dash number and is a pinned barrel.

My LGS would price a M64 snubbie in nice shape at $600-700, and it would sell in a few days.

EDIT: Please see below, I confused myself about what gun was the topic of conversation.

I'd venture $400-$425 if condition is good. A quick check of completed auctions at GB would verify though.
That said, I'd think twice about trading it . Trading something that uncommon would surely end up on the "what was I thinking" list down the road.
Been there-Done that.

My goodness what price swings, everything from a low of $350.00 to a high of $700.00. Not to many years ago 2" Model 64 police trades were selling in the $300.00 range. If I really wanted one, (it would have to be in top condition) I'd be a buyer at $400.00 and a serious thinker up to $450.00.

Remember tens of thousands were sold, both to the public and assorted police and government agencies, so there are lots of them out there.

I can't tell you that if you're interested in selling it to PM me. That would probably be against forum rules and it would be unethical. Unethical because the right thing for me to tell you is to keep it. LOL hardcase60

Those monetary values are what they actually sold for, the second number is how many bids were made. I'll add that I was confused and thinking the query was about a M66. I think my LGS would list it for $450-500. They recently sold a M10 snubbie in pretty good shape for $450. It sat on the shelf for about two days.

The model 64 was first produced in 2 and 4" barrels; the former are much less common. The most common 2" will be -2s (pinned, then unpinned) and later -4s, -6s and -8s. A nice 2" 64 would be in the $450-500 range, less for a heavily worn example.

I paid $145 for mine in 1976. In today's dollars that is $630. I still have it and would never sell it.

You don't see these very often. I saw one at a local auction about two years ago and it went for around $500.

Nice M64! Most folks, without hesitation, will drop $450-$600 on one of the myriad plastic pistols or new Smiths, of which can be found at every gun store in the USA, but balk at giving up the same for a nice classic like the M64. For my dough I'll happily grab the old Smith and leave the plastic shooters for the masses.

Not to criticize too much - but the pictured M64 appears to have some serious road rash on the cylinder and a bubba polish. The supply of 2-inch anything-K-frame has dried up to the point that it's depressing. Even though I don't have a 2-in 64 - I couldn't see paying more than $350 for that one. I just checked GB again and I think the good ones are all gone ... I guess if the RR was stoned off and it was bead-blasted it might look pretty good again.
