S&W can't fix the rear sight on my 27-2
S&W CS says they don't have the parts any more. I broke a leaf off of the sight, and I know I have to break the screw to get it off. Anyone have a line on these, or on a whole model 27 rear sight assembly?

Another couple of places to look are Gun Parts Corp (Numrich) and also look on eBay.

That's strange, since they still have sight blades listed on their web site, did you try ordering some or just talked to a customer service person

If all you need is a rear sight slide, or the complete kit, S&W does have these, the only part of the rear sight that has changed since post WWII is the sight base itself. You spoke with an idiot! All of the sight parts sold by Brownell's, Jack First, and others come from S&W!

A small hijack here. "You spoke with an idiot!" might be a little harsh. The person may well have been a babbling fool or an incompetent moron. I see no need to pick on idiots. Sorry, I couldn't help myself. hardcase60

After a few good suggestions, two miserable conversations with boneheads at S&W CS, no luck with Brownells, or Numrich, I found a complete sight assembly for a model 27 on Gunbroker. So I bought it. Thanks for all your help, guys.

The blade replacement kits are the same for K Frame, N Frame regardless of model.

Midway has the rear sight blade replacement kits in stock as of this date. The cost is about $12.00 plus shipping. There are instructional videos on youtube plus written instructions in a Q&A sticky in the gunsmithing sub-forum.
