Pawn shop rescue M34-1 Nickle
Picked this little 34-1 in the pawn shop a couple of weeks ago for $485 out the door. Nickle with 2" barrel, square butt, and target sights. Grips didn't match the SN and were a little beat up but the finish on the gun is excellent. I've sanded the grips a bit and re-oil them so they are presentable. The only item I'm preplexed about is the extractor which is blue. The extractor rod is nickle. Is that factory original? Hammer looks to be a "semi target"?
SN is M80-243 which according to Mr. Jinks is Sept 1975.

Heck that's a great deal, any I have seen have been $600+. They are a great little revolver. Which I wouldn't have sold my nickel 34 snub. Great job and investment.

A J frame nickel plated Kit Gun for under $500? I hope to shout that is a good deal! Nicely done.
My wife and I are huge fans of the Kit Guns. No point in saying how many we have between us, because the number could easily be out-dated in a week or two or three. You never know what might come our way. The last two acquisitions started with a phone call from a local gun shop owned by a friend. I bought them within an hour or two after receiving the call.

Standard procedure on S&W nickel plated revolvers included leaving the hammer and trigger case colored and the extractor star blued. Completely normal. In fact, one spotting feature that proclaims a non-factory nickel job is finding the extractor star plated.

Jack,
I used to live in Eagle river in the late 80's thru 97 so we've probably shopped the same gun shops.
