Default M36 Nickel 1971 Today's Purchase

I haven't posted in a long time because there just isn't much out there to buy. Plus, I have about everything and won't buy duplicates (unless they are like free). Been missing a M36 in Nickel from my collection forever. They are scarce. Everyone I've seen out over the past few years has been in the $800 range. Stupid prices, but I'm not in charge of prices. . .only in charge of what I will pay. This one is like new. Blemish free and easily 98%. Pretty much unfired. Just a little oxidation that I took care of. I had to dig down deep and pay the big money. . .$325! There is a huge difference between what people think guns are worth and what I will pay. This one turned out really pretty once I put the Flitz and Ren Wax to it. Matching grips and the big N on the frame, of course.

Howdy DocB,

A few days ago I was thinking I hadn't seen a post from you for a long while and hoped all was well. Glad to know it is.

Pretty little Chiefs! I've been looking at a few nickel ones recently, but they're not quite as nice as your new one and certainly not as reasonably priced.

Enjoy,

Bob

I really haven't had anything new to post in several months. Just not much out there. So, I put a new roof on the back of my house and paid the property taxes. After that kind of money goes out, a person tends to stay out of the LGS for a while. Today I just couldn't resist and roamed into my favorite LGS. That's when this little gun dropped on me. Just couldn't turn it down.

Beautiful and what a price! Around here nice 36's have jumped to $500-600. I found a real nice nickel one like yours with box and tools but had to pony up $200 more than you did. I Just bought a little early.

Actually, $200 more for the gun with box and tools is a really good price for a nickel one. I've seen some on-line pushing $1K. I've got to dig up a box and stuff for mine, but it will never match. The guy at my LGS just sold a M39 LNIB for $650, which I though was way high; but, the 39 is said to bring right at $1K too.
