SM model 27 "S" ser# DOM
Hello fellow shooters,
I just aquired a Blue model 27 ser# S1014xx for 725 It has a small amount of muzzel wear, no excess endhake & the time is on !!
The ser# matches in all 3 places as it should
The cylinder has turned "plum" when a flashlight is used.
My questions
Anybody know date of mfr ?
The cylinder "plum" I know Colts turn plum but never seen a SW turn plum.
Could it have been re blued or is just like some Colts do ? (which Im not a fan of) but can live with it
thanks in advance

The DOB of a N frame S series 101xxx is 1953-54 .
You don't make mention, but surely you have a 5 screws pre-27 model.
The barrel is 3 1/2" or what else? Correct stocks are service with diamond , or target with diamond and not relieved.

Looking at the raised edges on the S&W stamp on the side plate, I'd say it was the original finish. Good buy!
