I have purchases or traded for a model 57 41mag. With serial number AUL 5259 in excellent shape. Can anyone tell me when it was produced and possible value ? Thanks for any info.

The alpha numeric serial numbers are difficult to track accurately, at least using the 4th Edition Standard Catalog of Smith and Wesson. Given that disclaimer, I will hazard a guess that your revolver was probably shipped in the 1986-87 time frame.

"Excellent" means different things to different people. Several good quality photographs of your revolver would help to establish value. The Catalog lists a price of $950 for a Model 57 in excellent condition, $750 for very good.

I agree with Inusuit I hope the 5th edition catalog will be more complete
