Default another serial number

Hello, long time lurker, first time poster. I'm buying a Model 10-6 this weekend, blued with the heavy barrel. I'll also be picking up the S&W Catalouge, but while I'm waiting I was wondering if anyone could give me an idea when this revolver was made. Serial number is D145779 according to the seller. TIA for any help.

Probably made in 1969. Since they were not shipped in serial order, it could easily have left the factory the following year. Letters on these guns always reflect the shipping year, not the year of manufacture.

Thank you Sir! That's only 5 years younger than me, lol. I found the Catalog for a very good price, ordering that here in the next few minutes.

I just picked up a 1968 Model 10-6. s/n D42854 which shipped in May/68.

You are getting a good gun.

Welcome to the forum!
You should enjoy the 10-6, and the Catalog is fantastic reference!

Oh, don't forget to post pictures when you get it!
