Blue 27-2
I just recently picked the last barrel length I was looking for in the Model 27-2's, in BLUE. I never took a liking to the nickel guns so I don't collect nickel, just blue. I had mentioned these in another thread but did not post a picture. So just to verify that it did happen here they are: 27-2 in 3-1/2, 4, 5, 6, 6-1/2 and 8-3/8 inch barrels and they all live with me, finally.
Just wanted to clear this up, these are not safe queens. I have taken them all to the range except the last one I picked up. I have not had a chance to shoot the 6-1/2 inch gun yet. I try to keep all my guns clean and waxed. I like to think of them as collectible shooters. I get a lot of pleasure out of looking at them but it is more fun shooting them.

I recently adopted out my 6 blue 27-2 s to a good home. I am pleased they will be well cared for and will send postcards on special occasions. Thanks to Gil.

Glad to see you got your 27 collection put together man! I finished off mine earlier this year, but all are nickel except for one. My only blue 27 is also my newest manufacture gun; a 27-5 of 1990 vintage with a 6 1/2" barrel. It also has a recessed cylinder but no pinned barrel. My others are all 27-2 models in nickel from 3 1/2 to 8 3/8".
Like you, I just love the model 27 pistols.

My last firearm purchase was a 27-2 5". It has quickly become my favorite revolver, but unlike you guys I won't start collecting them. I think that is just foolish and a waste of money. I am currently looking for a 27-2 3 1/2" than a 4". I already have a holster for a 6" N frame so I figure why not a 27-2 6". Don't confuse my buying a few more 27-2s with collecting I'm just sort of getting a few more, that all I'm doing.

27-2
Very nice collection you have there Nuguy! I have a 6" nickel 27-2, and a few pre 27 long barrels. Gotta love the 27, quite a classy revolver!
I'm not collecting either, just gathering a few as I can afford.

Unlike some, mine do get shot. I bought them for me to play with, not as an investment. With that said, some don't get shot much, but I've run rounds through every one. The ones I shoot the most are my 3 1/2, 5 and 6 1/2" guns. The 5 incher is the first pistol I ever bought back in 1974 and has had a whole bunch of rounds through it over the years. I just wanted one of each common barrel size because I love the N frame, especially in 357 Mag.

Ray- I have the same 27-2 as you except my 4" is a -3. The -3 shoots and has a trigger as good as any of the -2's just not p&r. Some of the finest revolvers ever made.

Very nice collection and I for one am happy to here that they "get out" a little!! I am similar to you as I collect best shape I can afford and also shoot them too. I have yet to get my first model 27 as I been working on my model 14 collection and I use the word collection loosely as I only own 4 model 14's. About how long has it taken you to put your collection together (if you don't mind me asking)?? I think model 27with that nice top checkering is one of the most beautiful models! Enjoy

I got my first 27-2, the 6 inch about 6 years ago. The other 5 have arrived since then.

Well nuguy, you are four ahead of me! All I need is a 3 1/2", 4", 5" and a 6 1/2" and my collection will be complete. At my current rate of acquisition though, that should be about 2185AD!!

Not sure which 27-2 is my favorite, I like them all, but I am partial to the shorter tube. (3-1/2 to 5).
