My first model 19
Picked up my first model 19, a 19-3 with 6" barrel. Pics below. I have wanted a P&R model 19 for the past 15 years. Recently sold a project car that I actually made some money on and also picked up a new Les Baer UTC. These two should keep me busy for a bit.
Can anyone tell me date of manufacture? Serial number 7K95743.
I went to local gun store to check out a 4" 19-4 and a new Performance Center 627 5". Ended up leaving with neither as this one spoke to me the most, was in really good condition, and the trigger was oh so nice.

Don't have the big book close by, but I'd guess it's from 1975.

"Serial number 7K95743" ... the book agrees w/ r3captain, 1975.
From the pictures, that one looks like new. In my experience, 4" M19s often show a lot of holster wear, dings, etc. Not that you don't find a pristine 4" now and then, just that you are much more likely to find a 6" in that condition. For one I plan to shoot, I would actually prefer the 6" version.

Thanks all. Really enjoying it so far and it will be a shooter, not a safe queen. Paid $750 for it from a local store that always has high prices but an awesome inventory. Probably paid a little bit too much but was worth it to me.

I have a P & R snub and a pinned 4".
I would love a 6" P & R shooter.

Congratulations on a nice 19! I am 64, and still never owned 1. I came close in March of this year when I bought a 66-2, 2.5". It called out to me at a gun show. Bob
