Complete package nickel 19
A few weeks ago at a local show, I ran into a sweetheart staring at me on a table. I was weak; very weak as I told myself going into the show that I was going to sell a 28-2 and not go home with anymore toys. Well, that didn't pan out as I had planned. Oh well, I forgave myself already.
What I found was a complete package nickel model 19-4 combat magnum. She was gorgeous and wouldn't let me walk away without her in my hand. It came with the original silver box, all papers, complete tool kit, and a big smile on my face. The kicker for me was that it had target stocks, target hammer, target trigger, trigger stop, red ramp front sight and white outline rear sight as indicated on the box end label. I consider the condition to be excellent, possibly unfired.
It joins the safe family now, and goes well with my 19-4 nickel snub as well. I know some folks are not huge fans of nickel finished guns, but I certainly admire them just as much as my blued and stainless Smith's.
I'm curious to know how many twins are out there with all the factory options offered from Smith at the time. I have only come across one other 4" nickel 19 with the 3 T's in person. I figure there cannot be a ton of them out there since approximately only 10% of Smith's were nickel finish. What kind of value would you experts put on a package like this?
Please share your mirror finish nickel 19's! Anyhow, I'm happy with my acquisition and many thanks to the good folks on this forum. Thanks for allowing me to share, and Happy Holidays!

Very nice looking set of nickel combat magnums. I have already seen examples like yours go for $1k and above(both bbl. lengths also). You don't find complete packages like yours everyday.

Sweeeeeeeet!
Since I target 3T's in models that offered them..................
In late summer, I went to a local gun show. There, I purchased an identical piece to yours with the only exception being it is a 19-5. It is TT/TH/TS/RR/WO, box, 4" Nickel, UNFIRED. In spite of being a "dash 5," I figured $725 was not a bad deal.
While not a 4" or 3 T's, two tables over I negotiated a 2 1/2" 19-3, Nickel, UNFIRED, orig. box, tools. No, it did not fall for $725, but the guy turned it loose for $950, a fair deal for an unfired snub.
Funny, that morning at daylight, I nailed another 2 1/2", 19-4, Nickel, box, UNFIRED.............on Gunbroker using Buy It Now...........for ONLY $700 !!!!.............a steal!! Somebody was asleep on that one.
So in one day, 3 nickel model 19's came to the stable.
Prior to that, I had recently purchased 6" Nickel 19-4 w/ 3 T's and had owned for 6 years a 6" Blue 19-5, ANIB and 3 T's. The short of it is that in less than 2 months, I went from one (blue) model 19 to five of them, four being nickel.
In the stash is also a 4" model 66 with 3 T's and 2 model 66's with 6" barrels and 3 T's.
But to agree with Dkrueger17, there are 4" model 19's and 66's out there with 3 T's, just not very many of them.
Y'all have a Very Merry Christmas!! Bo in western NC

WOW! 3 nickel 19's in one day...amazing. Your stable sounds very intriguing. Nice work. I myself have three P&R model 66's, but none sport the 3 T's. It's on my list to find one or two. I've ran across a few 66's with case-hardened target hammers and triggers, but I'd sure love to find a nice original example with the flash-chromed target hammer and trigger! One day...

Merry Christmas Dkrueger17,
You have an stunning gorgeous handgun.
I do have a very vulnerable spot in my heart for gorgeous revolvers. In my opinion, S&W manufacturers absolutely beautiful revolvers.

Yes, the M-66s are harder to find with TT and TH, but 3 of mine have them. The other 3 do not but they are "special"....... a NC Hwy Patrol, a SC Wildlife Officers weapon, and a 2 1/2" snub.
I have always sought out TT and TH when possible. Most of the model 18s have them, all of the model 14s have them, and most of the 17s have them (only 2 do not but I added Tyler trigger shoes to those. And now 3 of the model 19s have TT and TH. Even 2 of the model 15s have factory TT and TH, one Nickel and one blue. I just love the feel of the wide trigger. Hammers do not matter so much.
Used to be a FFL (for 26 years) and I was my own best customer !!
Merry Christmas "night" to y'all and be good. Santa is still watching.

My brother, Louisiana Joe, of this forum, called me last month and said he had found a 19-3 P&R with this same package without the box for $550.00 at his "Old Farts" Gun Club and asked me if I wanted it. Uh, yeah. Now I have 19-3's in 2 1/2", 4", and 6". Life is good.

Very nice example.
For me the appeal of gun shows is not knowing what you'll find. I often come home with guns/stuff I didn't know wanted or I forgot I wanted.

Model 19-2 with 3 Ts, RR, WO and ultra rare 5-inch barrel with a nickel finish. I believe it is the only one ever made by S&W.

Absolutely gorgeous, one of a kind example. I really admire that blued and pinned front sight. Thanks for sharing, Bill!
