Bought another S&W Revolver Today
Went to an auction and it did have a few guns in it.. I actually went to buy reloading items and my wife wanted a really nice sofa...but that is another story. They held up a PPC conversion built on a Model 19-3. Couldn't help myself and finally bought it at the knockdown of 550 bucks and no tax.. The fellow had it made last year and never shot it. Best part is the gun actually looks unfired and I got the original takeoff bbl, target stocks, set of K frame magnas, paperwork tool pouch and the original box serialed to the gun. Shipped approx 1972(2K985XX). Going to put the gun back together original and keep it...maybe as a safe queen...and give my daughter the other 19 I have for her carry piece for around the ranch. Got the paperwork from the smith who converted it with the invoices of all the parts for conversion. The original 4 inch bbl shows no use at all. Couple or so pics added. The last pic is a listing by serial numbers and years for K frames. I just assume it is correct

Congrats on a great find. Do you know what brand barrel is on gun now? I like the barrel and sight set up from what I see in your first picture

The bbl is supposedly a Douglas the sight setup was an expensive thing and the red dot is a 30 MM Match Dot by Ultra Dot. The Hogue monogrips are unique to mey recollection with the wood bottoms. Kinda neat though. I will take some pics after getting it back original

I acquired a Model 10-7 converted to a PPC shooter back in January. It was a police trade-in and like your in new condition. The smith for it is Eversull with a Bill Davis custom sight rib by Aristocrat. I paid $84.00 more than you did and without the original parts. You got a better deal. We both got a great deal.
Mine has an unbelievable double action trigger pull. Is yours in .357 Magnum as currently set-up or should I say with current barrel? I know it will be when you convert it back.

Well I do know the cylinder is still the original 357. Is there different throating or forcing cone in the bbl for 38 or 357?? I really am happy with the purchase. The Barrel/rib/sight is an Atristocrat also with the extra front sight. The extra sight was 50 dollars itself. There was no action work done. Trigger pull is pretty much bone stock. I've done some action work and have a 29-2 I did for a customer in 1981 that is really good even though he had the hammer bobbed since then....although hardly shot since I did the work...till I got it this last December. I'm going to remove all the extraneous stuff and sell it either here or on ebay...The only reason I got the gun at a reasonable price was because it was sold in a place where the shooters mostly do Cowboy shooting..not PPC. There was a really nice 4 inch 19-5 no box sold for 700 dollars previous to this one. And an 8 inch Blued Python that sold for 3100 bucks...but it did have all the stuff in the box...Not my cuppa tea

Great get. Glad you are returning it to original condition. I hear a bell ringing somewhere.

Bubba, ya done good!
I'd at least have to shoot it as is for a while just to see what it'll do. Who knows, you just might decide to keep it that way.

I thought about leaving it this way for a few mins anyway. but many moons agp I did make a rce gun out ot a 586. Was gonna show those guys how to shoot. Learned i didn't know anything about shooting a handgun...at least in competition...So when I realized I had the whole package...just knew I hadda put it together again. I'm even thinking of putting a TT and TH in it cause I have a couple of 'em in the parts bins...new one's too. But it didn't ship that way

They are Hogue Big Butt grips and come in all the various Hogue configurations, i.e. w/ or w/o finger grooves, all wood, smooth or textured etc. The most common variety is the one you have - rubber with a wood butt cap. Favored by USPSA and ICORE revolver shooters - prohibited in IDPA.
IIRC these came about specifically for Bianchi Cup competition so that the butt could be grounded when shooting the prone stages. But a great configuration for any two-handed shooting as it is very comfortable for the support hand.
Nice score, especially when you take into consideration the inclusion of the original parts.
Adios,
Pizza Bob

I doubt it would shoot any better but it would be worth more.

Very nicely done! It's great when the right place, right time thing happens. That's a heck of a deal right there.

Well I have it almost all apart. Gotta knock that pin out and take the Douglas barrel off. Going to sell all three of those barrels and the sight rib. That blasted thing was expensive. Was going to keep the red dot sight too but I must have 5 others and it is worth more the all the others. It is an Ultra Dot and since the others I have work just fine no sense in changing. I have one on a spare S&W 41 barrel and when I shoot it I amaze myself. I can actually hit what I'm shooting at sometimes.

So, did the wife get a sofa?? I shot PPC back in the early 1970's and the only trophy I have to show for it was meeting Bill Jordan and getting a personalized copy of his book. He had the biggest hands I have ever seen !!

Well yes she got a sofa...Thankfully she let another idio...er... lady get the one she really wanted. I tried to keep her from raising her hand but she went to 1200 bucks before she really got the look I was trying to get her to see.LOL!! I built a PPC gun on a 586...did the best trigger I ever put on a gun. Was gonna show those guys how to shoot. Um...yeah... I showed 'em I didn't know anything about shooting handguns. Never met Mr Jordan but got to meet a lot of gun writers back in the day at Remington seminars. Even though I can put the bbl back on...I'm gonna have a good smith do it.. Anyone here have a good candidate?
