Default 66-1 the best?

So I have this 66-1 snub that is one of my favorites. It has a super smooth trigger and a really "solid" feel. I have noticed over the years that when I pick up and dry fire a 66-2 to 66-5 it never feels as solid and tight and smooth. Has anyone else noticed this or am I just biased? I am not sure why this would be the case. Just wondering?

My baby.

There is a lot of individuality in the Model 66 era you are referring to. Some have been around a while and have had action work done. Some were as you describe right out of the box. You are biased because you have a really nice one. I have had my eye out for one like that for thirty plus years. Call me Mr. Jealous.

Nice little revolver.....I really like the Model 66 myself. What grips are those? They look like they would fit the hand well.

My 3" 66-2 has the smoothest double action of any S&W I've owned. It must have been polished/tuned because my no dash and -1 66's aren't this smooth and light. I agree, there's nothing like a -1, especially a new in the box one and a nice 3"-2 too....

66-1 is a classic...... last of the pinned and recessed stainless .357s.

If it was used when you got it ..... good chance it may have had the action polished.

Only thing better would be a 3inch 66-3 with Spegel's boot grips.
