Default Letter Time

Does anyone know how long it is taking to get an authentication letter nowadays? In the past I have gotten my letters in 2-3 weeks. Now, I have sent in my request 5 weeks ago and they cashed my check within 1 week. Don't know if they have a big backlog, or possibly my letter got lost in the mail. If they do have a backlog on gathering information, there certainly is no backlog in the check cashing department.

Sent in my last request for a letter on 2/12/18 (check cashed 2/20/18) but hadn't received the letter as of last week. Contacted Don Mundell via PM and he checked immediately and said the letter had gone out 2/28/18. Disappeared in the mail apparently so he talked with Roy and I received a replacement yesterday. I'd contact Don and see if yours didn't go into the deep dark hole at the USPS. Good luck.

Send me a PM with all your correct information. We usually cash a check soon after we get it. I didn't think it would upset someone.

I just went thru my letter request entry sheet for March 2018. The only entry I have for anyone from Albuquerque was logged in by me on March 15, 2018. That is, by my calculations 4 weeks ago. Yes, the check was cashed two days later, on Saturday March, 17, 2018. The reason I cashed it so quickly is simple, I cash all checks I receive for that week on Saturday. Had I received that request on March 17, 2018, the check would have been cashed 9 days later on March 24. I checked back to January 2, 2018, I have no other entries for Albuquerque.

Three years ago the letters were handled by Smith & Wesson. Sorry but your issue is with Them not the Smith & Wesson Historical foundation. Did they cash the check?

Oops, my mistake. It was 4 weeks ago. I was using a flip calendar and counted wrong.

And hats off to Don Mundell for stepping in and saying he would check for me. That is great service on their part.

I sent my request and check in mid-October. The check finally cleared my bank on 5 December. Still don't have the letter.
