It is a dash 1. In pretty clean condition no box and Goodyear rubber. Rather have a 15 but the price is 425. Is that a fair price for a 67-1? Oh red ramp on stainless front sight...blue rear sight. serial 63K or 83K63XX...not certain on which prefix number...you know..CRS. Is it worth the asking price?

Update with picture of the Smith-on M-19-3in 2K 98XXX range with Python barrel actually looks ok..they did a decent trigger on it too

I think that it is..... great guns.... 15 in stainless steel. $425 is a good price for any revolver in good condition now-a-days.... I think its the old $200-250 prices....

67-1 also makes it certain that the gas ring is on the cylinder like it should be. If you buy it I think that you'll be very happy.

It's probably a fair price, although personally, I'd try to negotiate downward on the price due to the missing factory stocks.

I'm like you and D Brown. I'd rather have a 15 and if a 67 then I'd want original stocks. For me, without pictures, it would have to be EXCELLENT condition for that price.

Check for end shake and hope it is not an old LEO gun

Novice apparently in regard to the 15/67.

The nice thing about old K-frame .38s is that it's rare to find one with the flame cutting issues or shaky cylinders that sometimes plague the K-frame .357s from too many hot loads.

I just picked up one # 3K655XX. When it arrives we can compare. Good luck to us both. K-frames are always worth it!!!

Well I have another S&W that I just picked up about an hour ago, It is actually a Smithon... A k frame Smith with a python bbl. Looks really good and they did great work on it..Great DA trigger. I won't get the M-67 till Monday. Tried to talk him down but no go..he did give me a set of K frame stocks though.. May need a re-finish..haven't seen them yet. I'll get a pic of the Smithon later and post it too.

I think the 67-1 is the ideal .38 special revolver - it's really the famed Model 15 dressed in stainless steel. I recently finished an article on this breed, which will be appearing in a future Blue Press. I like the dash one for relocating the gas shield to the cylinder, and it still sports the refined "pinned" barrel. Couldn't be finer. Here's a pic of mine for reference on the factory stocks.

Non original stocks are kind of a drag, but not a deal breaker if the gun is clean. I would probably buy it for that price and I already have one.

I am going to buy.. I think it shows a bit more use than yours. From my recollection no end shake and the gun is tight. I had it in hand a couple of weeks ago. He just got around to pricing it. I am not a real fan of SS firearms. I have been looking for s nice M-15 for a while and they are hard to find around here at a better price. I don't do GB or other online sellers. Kinda like being able to hold what I want to buy. I have a 66 in the box and a 686 I will probably sell or trade off for another revolver in blue. I got a set of K frame magnas at the auction two weeks ago that I will switch out onto the 67. Forgot about the pic for the model 19 with the Python barrel. We had a goober dog get nailed by a black and white "kitty"(2nd time in a little more than a month). Had to get him de-skunked. Terrible odor!! I'll post that pic today though.

I have nothing against the Model 15s. They are perhaps a bit harder to maintain their good looks, as they are blued rather than stainless. Like you, I also like the blue finish, which in the more modern guns seems to have degraded in quality. I looked a long time for this Model 15-3, which left the factory in May of 1971, but I don't shoot it much - the condition is very nice indeed.

I own “a few” K frames, mostly Combat Masterpieces, and shoot them all from time to time, but shoot the Model 67 the most due to ease of maintenance. Since they’re all the same in terms of function and feel, I can shoot the 67 regularly and stay just as proficient with all the others. As I’ve stated before, when the chips are down, I’m all about consistency and familiarity with your chosen firearm. I also agree that’s a good price. Regards,

Seems like a fair price to me.
I bought a LNIB 67-6 (MIM & IL) last year for $410 OTD - though it did come with both the original 3-finger rubber grips & a set of Crimson Trace laser grips.

Updated with a picture of the M-19 with the python barrelnot my cup of tea but it is a nice looker with a good trigger. Fellow asked me to make him a fair offer for it... Still thinking on the fair part

Uncle Mike's combat stocks. I like the contrast of black stocks on silver
guns. You will enjoy your model 67 long after you forget what you pay

"Back in the day" when the Smython was all the rage, I lusted for one. I've never seen one in the real world. If I ran into one today, I think I'd get weak in the knees. I'm not under the illusion they're any better than anything else, it's just about them being so different. I would prefer a 4" barrel myself.

Around here $425.00 is a grab it and giggle all the way to the door price on a 67 dash anything that hadn't been run over by a D9 Cat.

I love that..****n over by a D9 cat. When I pick the 67 up on Monday I will post a picture. I may have it prettied up with a polish after I get it....or maybe just shoot it the way it is. The M-19 PPC gun I recently got and posted on is going to a gunsmith to have the original bbl remounted...rear sight and target stocks...going to put it back to it's original configuration. And....it IS blued. It has a serial within 200 digits of the pictured 19 with the Python bbl if my CRS hasn't messed up my memory too much

Both the 15 and the 67s are great guns - you can't go wrong with either. It's about condition and where your heart lies. As a matter of fact, you should have at least one of each.

I'm not sure where that Smython/Smolt comes into the 15/67 discussion, but it is very nice. I'm glad you posted it. And I would be proud to have that beauty in my collection. I have the blued version on a Highway Patrolman frame that I picked up from one of the good members of this forum...

I regularly follow M67's and M15's on GB (only option) and am here to tell you the price swing on both models is amazing. I would say from the GB standpoint that the $450 W/no box or additions with or without original grips is a very good price. Don't forget to add the associated cost if it is an auction. One thing I do see that is most promising about these 2 models is that the supply is still very good even on the M67 ND which some see as a bonus, not that I necessary agree with that as the SS sight was actually replaced after complaints due to its reflective quality. For a shooter I would just as soon have a dash 1 or better yet both a model 15 and 67 before the supply does start to shrink. I still think you can write your own ticket on these models. I was lucky to have purchased on GB a 95%+ with box and complete contents for $525 plus additional cost and was amazed to find I was the only bidder. I think in the end it just depends on what type of package you desire.

Going to a fair amount of gun shows I have found that asking prices on the 19 27 28 and 66 are always higher..they are of course 357s...38s don't go as high. I guess t reasoning is w a 357 you can still shoot 38s. I have wanted a decent 15 for a while and since I haven't seen one the 67 was the same gun in Stainless. I figured the price was fair and especially as it is going to be a shooter. Have also decided I can carry it around the ranch without hurting the finish to any degree. I do have to ditch the goodyears though. Don't know whether to put targets or magnas on it. No TT or TH so probably the magnas. It does have r/r and w/o though.

Does any one have an idea on a fair price on the 19 with the python barrel

Good thgings come in 3s and 4s. Son in law called today and he just picked up a like new in box M 15-3 in 2 1/2 inch nickel. Been shot about 100 rounds. Even got the original receipt 1974 I think. Serial 3k983XX. He stole it in my opinion at 400 bucks. How much would a 2 1/2 in nickel be valued at? He sent me a pic and if I can will post the picture. Not good at this techie stuff

I'm with you, Phil. That particular Uncle Mike's combat stocks are a favorite of mine, especially for range and carry work. They just fit my hand well in spite of having the finger grooves, maybe because they are not so pronounced which gives more finger room that works with my hands. I like this model on both RB and SB K Frames. You have a very nice K Frame there!
