Default Almost new 10-5

I found her on a local Tradio. The only wear is on the cylinder and muzzle from laying in the box. I believe it’s Unfired. Might have paid a bit too much but still cheaper than a newer one. $550. Almost LNIB. I’m very pleased with her. Sn dates to 63-65 I think.

Maybe a touch but still a sweet get for you. Verah nice.

Mine is a little younger than yours; it shipped 5/71. 5" barrel.

I'm head over heels in lust. I love the 10-5, and miss the one I recently sold to a friend. It was Cerakoted, so I got it for a low price, but I loved the way it balanced and pointed.

How do the muzzle and cylinder wear from laying in the box?

I believe the good wife paid slightly more than that for mine (my Christmas gift a couple years back) and it didn't come with its original factory box. You did just fine IMHO.

50 plus years of being moved around in a cardboard box just barely wears the finish where it touches. That’s my best guess. It is consistent with how it lays.

That's so nice. A Model 10 just looks "right" with a 4-inch tapered barrel. That one does look like new in your photographs. Neato diamond stocks too.

I picked up a similar 6-inch at a gun show from the original owner who said it'd never been fired. It's a bit later than yours. Original receipt says it was purchased in January of 1970.

That would be a good price around here for a like new 10-5 with the box. I just looked at a nickeled and converted BSR that had a $699 tag.

Congrats on a really nice example of a classic Smith!

Nice pick up Bobby. I have a 10-5 from 1965 and it does have the original stocks, they are not diamond magnas. I'd say your's is a touch older. Enjoy!
