Appraisal help:: S&W M60, no dash, BNIB
Hello guys and gals, need a few opinions. Helping a friend sale their grandfather's pistols, they have a 99% NIB m60, no dash. Im assuming a later run bc of the serial and smaller logo on left side plate. Serial number R1386**.
Said grandfather won it years ago, never shot it.
Any idea on Value and actual born date?
We appreciate the help.

Easily $550 to $600 around here. I'd jump on that in a heartbeat if I came across it at my LGS for $600.

I'm guessing the early 70's with that s/n. My suggestion is to check Gunbroker the completed sales, and see what they have been selling for. I'm guessing more around $600 (in the Midwest). Prices vary geographically.

In the Reno area $500, perhaps $550. Been a couple on Armslist that haven’t moved at this price. K, L and N frames are moving fast at current market prices.
ARMSLIST - For Sale: S&W Model 60 38 Vintage

The one in the closed auction link is a bit earlier than the one in this post, perhaps 1967? Someone really wanted it badly.
R138000 would have probably been from 1975.

The one in the auction is a second production run. It's not worth what it brought, but, someone wanted it badly. I own 13 Model 60's. The last one I just bought at a show last weekend. It's exactly like yours, except mine didn't have the cleaning kit. I paid $550.00.

Yep. Others are right. Should be about 550-600 in that condition. Great little revolver.

Not sure where you are located, but in North Georgia an unfired M60 pinned no dash with box and dox is about $600, tops, and would move quickly at $500.

I would say about the same in Pennsylvania.
It would not sit long at $500.00, as that is about the sweet spot for something like that around here.
