Default S&W 30-1 or 31-1

I have a chance to pick up a 30-1 round grip or a 31-1 square grip
both are 2 in barrels, and 95% finish, besides the grips what is differ in them, and which one over the other to pick.

If your buying to enjoy them, then buy the one you like the most! I have both and there great for teaching younger shooters to shoot as well as older folks as there so mild in recoil! Hope that helps you. Kyle

Default J frame

It's a numbers game! The -1 is the change from I frame to J frame. As you have noticed the 30-1 is a RB and the 31-1 is a SB. This is the only time S&W made a model number change for the butt configuration. The choice is up to you!

it depends on which grip feels better in your hand. i prefer the square butt, it just feels better in my hand. i wear an xl glove. otherwise the two are the same.

Mine are a pre-model 30 (round butt) and a Model 31 (square butt) on I-frames. Looks-wise it's about a tie for me. Shooting-wise I much prefer the square butt.
