Model 36-1 Value
Interested in a purchase at a local Gun dealer. Model 36-1 , I believe it is a 1967 , 3" barrel, mechanically sound, finish is fair, no grips.
Looking to purchase as a Project gun.
Welcome any thoughts and comments.
Thanks, Joe.

With that description and no photos I wouldn't go more than $100.

$100.00 may be good where you live but not in MA.

Not over $225, preferably not over $200.

If you guys are finding them in good mechanical condition and fair cosmetic shape for $225 and under, send some of them my way please....
Unless it is a complete beater, they start at around $300 in my neck of the woods.

Picked up the Model 36-1 today, paid $300.00 for it but it was well worth it. finish is fair but it feels like the day it was made 1967. Every thing is so tight, I would like to know what kind of history that it had. It will be cleaned and lubed and sometime in the future Reblued.

You did fine at $300. Guessing from the right sided finish wear that it was a carry gun in a standard RH OWB holster and hit a few car doors and center consoles in its past . I see “honest wear” and evidence of use so I’d leave it alone, but that is me. Enjoy!

Oh yeah, I'd give $300 for that in a heartbeat. Nice score.

I'm with murphydog on seeing nothing but honest wear . . . do nothing more than a two-day soak in Kroil followed by a gentle rub with 0000 bronze wool.
Hope you enjoy yours as much as I enjoy the late 66 - early 67 ones of mine,
Russ
