Default 27-2 5" Nickel w/case, Yes!!!

I've gone whole hog on these 27-2's of late. I finally found a 3.5", and a mint 4", and now, in my favorite finish a beautiful 5" nickel!

For those that love the 27's I'm sure you'll agree they are the cat's meow, N frame 357. I'm very stoked by this latest purchase.

Let me know what you think! This one came with a case that does not have a single scratch on it, papers, tool kit, though the blue liner has dark wear marks.

Default 27-2 5", 4", & 3.5"

I went hog wild and bought all three in about 3 weeks! All came with case, papers, and tools. All three have the TT & TH, and the 4" also has the red ramp front sight. Courtesy of the Tax Man!

Those are real beauts. I recently secured a blue 4” and completed my set of 27-2 revolvers. They ain’t cheap anymore but seem to increase in value every year. The 5” is my favorite of the herd.

Its beautiful. I know where there is a 5" nickel 27-2 in case also but I"ve just been to reticent to spend the $1500 plus tax they are wanting for it. I do have a 5" 27-2 in blue but it didn't come with a case but instead the blue box. May have to spring for the nickel 5" too I do love the 27s.

I sold my 6" nickel to a friend last year, and my wallets hurting now, so I guess I won't be completing the set for awhile! Love to see yours if you have a pic or two!

Yeah, I spent $1455 plus tax for this gun, but have absolutely no regrets, as it's mine now and they ain't gettin any cheaper. I tend to overpay or pay to early as they say.

Two or Three hundred extras dollars you'll forget about soon enough. I'm certain a lot of guys here have paid considerably less, and there are some deals out there.

I say, go for it, you won't lose money on it!

Yep, it all evens out in the end. I'll probably end up getting it if they still have it. I really like the 5" length. First though it's another 29. Picking up an as new cased 29-2 4" blue tomorrow for $900. That will help even out things with the nickel 5" 27-2

Welcome to the model 27 addiction man! I've also been bitten by that particular bug and have it bad too. Mine first started 44 years ago, when I bought my first model 27 and also my first pistol, back in 1974. It is a 5" nickel gun and I still have it. It's had more than 30k rounds through it and I sent it back to S&W a few years ago to get tuned back up and now shoots like new again. It's also been rode hard and put up wet so to speak, but still looks pretty good. Here is a pic of how it sits nowadays wearing a set of Cocobolo Culina target stocks. It came with magna stocks and no fancy case, but the magna stocks just aren't too comfortable for me.

Last month I dropped $1795 getting a real nice 3 1/2" nickel 27-2. This one came with the silver box with tools and paperwork and also with a presentation case with tools. Just last Friday I finally got to the range with it and ran around 100 rounds of 357 and 38 Special through it. I really liked the whole package with this one and the seller worked with me to get everything done and finished with before I had to leave for my 2 week hitch at the drilling rig.

I picked this 4" nickel 27-2 off GB about 3 years ago and was not fired except for the factory test rounds when I got it. I fixed that problem, but I haven't shot it a whole bunch. It also made last Friday's trip to the range and shared shooting duty with the new 3 1/2" gun. It's wearing a set of Kingwood Culina targets nowadays, but I do have the original S&W target stocks still.

I picked up this 6" nickel 27-2 off Iggy here on the forums around a year or 2 ago. It was also unfired except for the factory test rounds, but I have shot it once since I got it and put around 75 rounds through it. It still wears the S&W targets it came with. Sorry I don't have a clearer picture of it, but I forgot to take some pics of it since I got it. I believe this is a pic that Iggy sent me.

This is my nickel 8 3/8" 27-2 I picked up off GB about 2 years ago. The auction didn't say so, but when I received it there were powder rings only on the alternate charge hole of the cylinder indication it was unshot also. It has also had one range session with around 75 rounds cycled through it.

Finally, this is my sole blue finish gun, a 6 1/2" 27-5 of around 1991 vintage. I got this one off GB about 4 years ago and it was also unfired in box for $700, which was pretty much a good deal. The seller had poor quality pics in his auction and I downloaded them and enhanced them to look the gun over closer. I shoot this gun a lot as it is fun to shot, accurate and since it's a newer gun I figure that it won't appreciate in value near as much as the older guns. It wears a set of English Walnut Culina target stocks now.

To really finish off my set, I would like to find an early P&R 6 1/2" gun, preferably in nickel (do you see a trend here ). But I'm in no rush to get it so I will look until I find what I want.

Thanks for sharing your new acquisitions with us Kingspoke and good luck finishing off your model 27 acddiction set.

Beautiful 27's there muddocktor, I'm envious. I have all barrel length 27's but the 6.5" but I only have one nickel at the moment, a 3-1/2" but alas no case like yours.

Sweet! I had a unfired 4" nickel 29-2, but sold it. It would be hard to find another one like that, for what I had paid.

Lessons learned, never sell, never. I replaced the few I parted with but my 75 colt Python. I gotta dig deep to replace it.

Congrats on your find I perfer only the nickel finish. Since s&w no longer offer the nickel finish the values will go higher.

A few years back my LGS had a clearance sale on new s&w n frames. They were $699 I grabbed the nickel guns, m58, the m57 and the m24. I should of emptied the case.

Thank you I l love your 27's and that 5" looks brand new! When you take care of them, like you do, they last several life times!

Very happy to see your collection, .... Now hand over that nickel 3.5"! Man o man, that's something special. Since I love nickel that is something to shoot for.

Here's an old (cell phone) pic of my nickel pre 27 long barrel!

Yes sir! These beauties are a deal when you consider I paid $1500 otd, for the complete package vs a Python at $3500 plus. And as we know you're not going lose at this rate, but maybe not appreciate for a couple of years. We buy them because we love them, not necessarily with the thought of being an investment, but it's nice to know 27's consistently appreciate.

If you don’t own a m27 you should the prices aren’t going down.
My misses is a bean counter accountant. She sees what they cost now she’s not looking to the future when the prices soar. I didn’t do it for a investment but it’s nice to know I can get my money back.

Now if I only can find another new Python for $350.
