10-8 Rubber Grips
I recently picked up a Model 10-8 that wasn't treated with much love. It has what I think are S&W Rubber grips. They only go down flush with the bottom of the grip frame, and I find them too short. I have an N-Frame with Pavchmayr Professionals which I like very much. I recently tried some Pachmayrs on a J-Frame and had no luck after two tries. Has anyone had any luck 'recently' with Pachmayr grips on K-Frames?
Thank you.

Look for the older two-panel Pachmayr grips. The newer style with a connection at the rear frequently fails to fit my guns.
Alternatively, find some Uncle Mike's grips. No longer made, they turn up at gun shows.

I would say that the Uncle Mikes are about the best rubber grips for the K Frame if you can find them. Sometimes they are listed as Butler Creek.
It sounds like the ones you have may be the Uncle Mikes Boot Grip style, if they are rubber and just come down to the bottom of the butt.
You might post a photo and if so you can usually find someone looking for those pretty quick and maybe work out a swap or at least get some cash to put toward finding the non-boot style.

Very late, but thank you. Lost the thread because of the requirement to subscribe to a thread, even if started by me.
I never did find a comfortable grip.

First thing I do when I buy a gun with Pachmayr grips is remove them. Grew up shooting Smiths with magna grips and can't get out of the habit.

If you still have the revolver, there are two sets of Sile K Frame rubber grips listed currently on Gunbroker. They are the same as the Uncle Mikes S&W K Frame grips mentioned above. I have a set of the Sile grips on my personal pre model 10 made in 1948/49. They fit my hand better than the Pachmyr Presentation grips.
