Default Rare? Model 37 Airweight Square Butt

I recently aquired another snubby (already had a model 60) and am curious about it. What raised my curiosity was when I was searching for grips. Apparently j frame round butts are a plenty. I had a hard time finding j frame, square butt grips. Looked in 7 gun stores before finding some online. So, are these rare? If so any idea on the approx value?
Also, I read that so long as it has a steel cylinder (it does) that I SHOULD be ok to shoot standard loads. Ya'lls input? I wouldn't want to shoot it if it is rare. Maybe just sell (I prefer to shoot it at least some : ))
So, to put it in a nutshell...Is it rare? Would you shoot it? What is it worth?
Thanks in advance for any input!!!

It's not rare. I have two -- and 2" and a 3".

You are right that few aftermarket grips available.

Looks like it's in nice condition. Perhaps a little wear around the trigger guard. Or maybe that's a reflection.

Guess on price, about $450.

Keep it and shoot it. It's a good CCW piece if you do that.

Check under the barrel for cracks with the cylinder swung out.

These guns tend to crack there if used with 38+P ammo too much.

Excellent! Thanks Cal44! I checked it and there are no hairline cracks (that were visible to me). Also, that must be a reflection as the trigger guard looks like the rest of the gun. Ok, looks like she will be going to the range then. No +P's though. Thats for sure! Thanks again!

The square butt J frames are my favorite carry pieces. If the grip doesn't fit you well, I recommend a a BK adapter or Tyler T.

Here's my 37:

These aren’t rare.

They are much easier to shoot than the round butt variety.

In my view, they’re relegated to carry on the belt, not pocket, because of the square butt and exposed hammer.
