IMHO being in like condition, they both hold their value about equally. That being said, the model 66 2.5 inch will always sell for more money, and the 3 inch will sell for the most money. Just my 2 cents.

Ditto...... the 2 1/2 inch would sell for $100-150 more around here...... the 3" 66s are generally in the $1000-1400 range

In today’s market the 2.5” is more desirable than the 4 and 6 inch versions. $100+++

In my area a real nice 4" brings $600+, a 2.5" $775+ and a 3" $1200-$1700 (if you can find one) .....and you can add more $$$ for one with correct box, grips, papers or whether it is a no dash, -1,-2 etc..... just buy one of each....

You may get a four-inch for less, but it's the best for all-round use.
The three-inch is nice, but so expensive that you may hesitate to carry it.

I have to agree with the consensus here. Right off the bat, the snub 2.5" will be a bit more valuable, however both will hold their value equally, and likely appreciate in value over time. After all, they definitely aren't making them anymore. I think a lot of folks prefer the snubs for concealed carry, and that has to do with the increased price. I'm still looking for a nice 3", but I have a decent set so far to get me by...
