Default Serial # questions

Hey folks,

New to the forums, first time getting into revolvers.

I would appreciate any info you could help me find about two serial #s, a 1973, 19-3, 4”: Serial # is 4k40XXX

And another 19-3, serial # is 1K53XXX, 2.5”

Hi and welcome to the forum. Your 1K serial number looks to be 1970 according to the following site.

TrouDeLoup

1K53XXX was issued in 1971.

1K39500 was as high as the 1K numbers went in 1970.
The rest of the 1K numbers were used in 1971.

4k40XXX was issued in 1973.

4K1 to 4K1627 were used in 1972.
4K1628 to 4K54104 were used in 1973 (which includes your number)
4K54105 to 4K99999 were used in 1974.
