Default 1979 66-1 at the range-new pic added

First rounds fired through this one (the 66-1 is my all time favorite S&W). 10 yards-my benchmark for any handgun I get before I try different distances-double action. The ammo is Browning .38spl 130gr fmj. The grips and marks on this show an interesting life, if only it could talk. Definitely not a safe queen and it will see frequent use at the range and along on the ride.

To say I'm happy would be an understatement.

Another view of it with an old Bianchi holster for my 686. I think this has become my favorite revolver, will definitely get out of the house more later in the year when the cooler weather returns (no rush LOL).

I have 2 similar to yours. One from 1973 and other from 1977. They are a hoot to shoot. Enjoy

Wow ! POA = POI. Nice shooting! Especially if offhand. Or did you use a bench? Either way, I think I need to practice more.

Thanks, yup off hand but I took my time. That’s my normal routine with any first outing.

Wonderful guns. I packed a 4" or a 2 1/2" for almost 20 years, until my department switched to the Glocks. I still have both of mine, and will have them until they go to my sons. They are both capable of excellent accuracy.

Best Regards, Les

I have a -1 4" and 2.5", but both were "ploished" before I volt them. I wish mine still bad that factory brushed look your has. Congratulations on a great find. My 66-1 4" is also my favorite shooter of all, with all of the others sharing second place. Nice grouping there. I don't think I can see the sights well enough to do that with a rest.
