Default Model 37 vs 36 thickness

I bought a Comptac C-Tac a while ago for my Model 37 airweight. With the retention screw all the way down it still doesn't hold it in tight enough. Is this revolver thinner than other J frames?

I am going to throw it up in the classifieds but want to make sure the holster will work for someone else with a J frame thats not an airweight.

Dave,

the newer revolvers with the shrouded, lugged and fluted new design barrels are thicker and longer than the old .38 framed models.

I have a few older .38 J frames with the "standard" 1.875" barrel, my newer ones (ie 342) are thicker. The newer .357 frame Js with the 2.25 barrel, obviously are longer too.

If the manufacturer is using the newer frame size, the old style guns will be a bit loose. Conversely, my 342 is too tight in my older holsters, it won't seat all the way in.

Airweight or standard doesn't factor in, the dimensions should be the same between them.
