My 34-1 (1972) is only 5 digits (M 51960) so I am way...way off...but would be interested in your box if you wish to PM me about it.
If you are awaiting a possible reunite....I too have some boxes that don't match guns but haven't even come close to ever reuniting, among guys at the range, local gun club, LGS customers & owners, and most all of my guns have been local buys (estate sales, co-workers, LGS, etc)...so "right" gun sits in "wrong" box except they are period correct.
Good luck in your endeavors.

I am hopeful, but realistic too it is a long shot. I am going to give it some time. I had a box a few years ago for a 38 Heavy Duty sold it on EBay a few months later a guy pops up on here wondering if I still had it he had the correct gun. So going to wait a bit.

Good for you. I've done that with stocks and boxes. No joy yet but you never know.
