S&W 10-6 +P?
I apologize in advance if this has been addressed previously but a S&W 10-6 has recently come into my possession- well-done reblue with exc new Altamonts and I’m wondering how well these stand up to +P ammo? I don’t plan on pounding thousands of these thru it but the 1970s-80s seemed to be the time period “in between” the standard and +P rated guns.
Any input is greatly appreciated.

Despite the previous comment mainstream +P 38 Special ammo is not loaded to pressure higher than allowed. I consider it a mild target load.

Pound it all you want....
You can pound a model 10 with any SAAMI spec ammo out there.
The model 10 is the perfect .38 ammo shooting machine. Let me make it clear that I don't exceed published data in my reloads, but I've put some really hot stuff through my model 10 and it took it in stride.

Yup this subject has been beat to death. But by all means shoot at much +P ammo as you want. Won't hurt it a bit.

38+P should actually be a good bit under what it can handle. From what everyone has basically gathered, the heat treatment for the K-frame 38's and 357's has been the same for a long, long, long time.
