Default Presentation case question

I have a 29-2, s/n S253XXX and was wondering what the proper Presentation case would be for that gun. I got one with the gun but it was basically just a box with what appeared to be a foam top (no flocking) in it. Thanks.

Although my picture won't do her any justice (she's a beauty!), here's one just for grins:

Inside should look like this. There is a foam piece under the the lid piece.

I see yours is a 1965. According to the S&W catalog 1960-1969 the gun faced to the right.

Did some poking around the forum and found Doc 44's excellent Pictures and Albums on Presentation Cases. Looks like my 29 should have a Mahogany "Clamshell type case" (May 1960-1968).

Thanks Bill!

Yes, you are correct, the case shown above is MUCH too new for your revolver.
