Default Sunday Afternoon Range Time, K22 & 28-2

My wife had work after church and I'd done yard work yesterday so a range trip was guilt free. And with a box of PMC 357's only a couple bucks more than the range store's 38's, magnums it was.

What was different about today's trip was that I shot from a rest. The results should surprise no one. The K22 was stellar....and I was a heck of lot better with the 28-2 than off hand. The K22 was bought new by my late Dad in 1947, shortly after coming home from the Pacific Theater of WWII. The 28-2 is a Oct '75 4 incher and is my shooter 4" 28-2.

The target picture is certainly nothing to brag about but it is good for me. My eyes are bad, that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it. The distance was somewhere between 15 and 20 yards. Both revolvers are now cleaned. After Hoppe's it was CLP. No time for Ren Wax as they'll be shot too soon. Here's to a great week folks.

Excellent choices for any range day! I was hoping to get my new (to me) 1968 M28-2 in 6” out in the yard today. But it rained on and off all day .....

The stocks on that k22 are fabulous!! I don't know if I've seen a prettier set. Your father had great taste. The Greatest Generation.

Lucky man, having a place to shoot out your door. I did once upon a time myself, in central Montana no less. Then even in college in Wyoming, it was only a five minute drive out of town to public land. Those were the days.

He sure did have great taste. And he taught me how to care for his K22, as well as firearms in general. But the stocks you reference were bought from a gentleman on this forum. I love them. Of course I still have the numbered magna's that came with the K22.

I couldn't imagine not being able to shoot in the back yard (I've never even been to a public range). It's also something I use to get new shooters some experience - who would never go to a range.

My targets are just left of the tree in pic. Off the deck it’s about 50 yards.
