4" Mod 27 LNIB with Original Wood Box W/Accessories
I am looking at a 4" 27-2 with original box & accessories on ANOTHER FORUM - so MODS please don't reprimand me for posting to a 'for sale' ad that is NOT on this forum...
Virtually no turn line and clean.
Anyway gorgeous gun - $900 - fair price?

Looks more like a 5" to me... very nice deal either way 
PS its a common mistake to measure to the frame instead of the forcing cone

That's not a 4". That is a 5" gun and yes, that is great price for either 4" or 5".
For reference, here is my nickel 4" 27-2. Note how much barrel sticks out past the underlug.
Here is my 5" 27-2. Note the amount of barrel sticking out past the underlug. Compare them to the gun you are looking to buy.

It measures 5" from the forcing cone to the end of the barrel.

Still a good price for the 5", which IMHO is the best looking N frame going. I'd pay it in a heartbeat if I were in the market. I can't justify the money, but if I could, that would be the M27 I would get. Some day, I will get a 25-9 in that configuration, even though that's not fiscally prudent.

I saw that one, and thought it would be great if I were up there, I'd grab it in a heartbeat. It looks to be in great condition. Don't pass on that one!

While the 4" did have a short run and are prized by collectors the 5" and 3.5" seem to have been the most sought after by fellow Smith nuts followed by the 6.5" then the 6" and lastly the 8 3/8" .
On a side note by the mid to late 70's when the 4" Model 27-2 began to supplant 3.5" and 5" lengths the Model 28 had been available in 4" since introduction cheaper, the Model 19 and SS Model 66 Combat Magnums were lighter and the M&P was being offered in .357 as the Model 13 in blue or nickel or as the Model 65 in SS which were lighter and cheaper..... and then came the high capacity 9mm auto craze.
