Odd 19-3
Saw a 19-3 at the local gun show today, it was a 3 in. Heavy barrel round butt non adjustable sights with German p marks. Didn't know that s-w made such a revlover?

No target sights? Weird. The Catalogue mentions that some were made for Walther, but those were 19-8s, and no mention of any without target sights. I'd be interested to know the serial number, if you can get it.

There have been strings (w/pictures) about this configuration before, IIRC. It basically looks like an M13 with a shrouded ejector rod barrel. I think it was a special order for a foreign nation's LE. Germany, maybe? I can't recall.

Amazing what lurks in our own Forums! How about multi-posts, multi images, spot-on info and even comprehensive factory letter!!! Website below.
Gosh, I'm good!
(Actually > to Google Images with descriptor. From there > back to our own GBForum!)
Well... At least maybe mediocre?
My take
S&W Model 19-3 with French lineage -

Brazilian, as were some 586's in 38. Smart, handguns are short ranged weapons. I've not found but one fixed sight Smith that was not dead center with usually used ammunition.

19's for Peru were Model
19P, fixed sight, we learn and still die fools. I have a 581, have had 586, 66, 29, 629. There ain't nothing sexier than a fixed sight revolver!

Not a 19-3, but a 19P with fixed sights sent to Europe as a sample revolver and returned to S&W, refurbished, and sold as a used revolver. The stocks are replacements for the original Pachmayr stocks.

Not mine but have a pic of a 19-3 as described,
Very rare and sought after variant :
PS, its really more like a blue Model 65 Lady Smith than the Model 19 since it has no target sites, IIRC they were made just prior to the Model 13 designation becoming official although its frame would have to be longer in the yoke cut (like a Model 19) to mate to the ejector rod shroud.

Nice. Have seen only one (other) with German proof marks.
There were two runs of 3" fixed sight 19-3's, one for Germany and one for France.
The French run had smooth front and back straps and no slot for a trigger stop where the German ones had serrated straps and a trigger stop.
Nice 19-3, Engine49guy.

I didn't look at the straps or trigger stop. The price he was asking, I was afraid to touch it, but he insisted. Price was 2,000.
