Default Model 10-5 with blue hammer and trigger?

Has my model 10-5 been refinished?
Nearly pristine gun but the hammer and trigger are both blued.
Thanks for any insight.

I think blued hammer and trigger are usually found on refinished guns. The Highway Patrolman I have is refinished, and it has a blued hammer and trigger. The OP's gun looks pretty clean, though. My opinion is that a gun with a quality refinish is worth having, though original is generally more desirable.

If that is a 10-5, I think the sharp shoulder diamond stocks are definitely much earlier issue. They look to be in good shape, and have value of their own. I would say that the gun has been reblued.

Best Regards, Les

The gun has been refinished, and it looks like a nice job. As les.b posted the stocks are from the late 40's (M&P) to early 50's, so not correct for the 10-5. But it doesn't matter; if it's mechanically sound, it's a beauty. Enjoy BTW, these are original stocks on my 1947 M&P

Most likely a refinish. As merl67 said, a picture of the other side showing the side plate seem and markings would probably solve the mystery. Regardless, it’s nicely done and I would be proud to own it. In fact, it reminds me of the early post-war “brushed blue” finish, which I happen to prefer. In that regard, the sharp shouldered magnas are appropriate, if not exactly period correct for your gun. I wouldn’t change a thing. Good shootin’,
Doug

I have 2 model 10-5's and neither has a blue hammer or trigger. It does look reblued but very nice though. Enjoy it!!

It has an overall suggestion of non-factory polish in that image, I'd vote for it being re-finished.

Just to up my post count, I'll join the chorus:

It's a nice job, but it is refinished. The blued trigger and hammer are the most obvious indicator, the general soft-washed appearance is distinct from the factory blue, and if you look closely at the frame, especially the flats around the cylinder latch, you can see the vertical buffing patterns you wouldn't normally notice on a factory job.
