Hi, -2 started in 1961. -3, in 1967. Of course may vary somewhat. My -2 is from 1964. My 1st S&W .22 revolver ever that I picked last year. Bob

Thanks Guys for all the info, that I asked for. But I am having trouble, trying to memorize all these dates. I guess it really doesn't matter much. When You get Old & Fat, you are just in the way and that's me now. But I sure am enjoying shooting my new to me, S&W 17-2 & 17-3 K-22`s. I sure should have bought one of them at least 50 years ago. Because I sure have missed out on a lot of fun not having a S&W K-22 of my very own to shoot when ever I wanted to. Thanks Again:

If you really like that 17, you may wish to add a 14, if you don't have 1. A really accurate .38. With the right ammo, is pretty much like shooting a .22. Bob

bananaman: I bought a S&W K-38 6 inch barreled 14-3 in 1971 at Fort Rucker Al. And it is just unbelievably accurate and makes even me look like a good pistol shooter. And I have always wanted a K-22 ever since then. I finally added the K-22 14-2 & 14-3 in the last couple of years. And like I said, I should have bought a K-22 along time ago. For I missed out on a lot of fun.

My 1964, 17 came to me at the age of 64. (last year) I waited quite a while. No special reason. Bob
