Just have to love a nickel model 19!
I was just finishing up some cleaning on my 19-3 and the beauty just overwhelmed me and I had to take a couple pictures to post. She was made in 1974 according to the 7k serial number. I bought it with the white target grips and have changed them to other guns but ended up putting them back. I think they go perfect with the nickel! I do not take it to range too often, but at least a few times a year though. It shoots great with 148 dewc I load up with just a tiny bit of hp38.

Nice clean lines. Very nice piece !!!!
Leave the white on there. IMO it sets the nickel off

Last year I posted some pictures of the grips in an effort to find out if they are a factory original item. Many people responded that they are not by S&W but an aftermarket item that was most likely not shipped on my gun. I then had mad many pm's from various people wanting to buy them from me. So maybe not a S&W item but must be liked from the responses. I have yet to sell any gun or gun related item because I have read way too many posts from guys with sellers remorse especially on my trap forums where many of shotgun shooters had the perfect gun then sold it off, only to purchase umpteen guns through the years to end up buying same model they originally had in the end.

Dark Stock Contrast on Nickel Finish
Before you permanently make up your mind on the light stocks and nickel finish, keep in mind that Rosewood (dark) looks pretty good on nickel as well.
For example, here's my 1973 Model 19-3.

The dark stocks do look excellent!! Very nice, but honestly I like any target style stocks. No offense taken at all from olskool - he is probably one of those magna+ Tyler t grip kind of guys. The only magnas I keep on any of my guns are only matching number diamond magnas. In that case I like the old look of those guns which are at the time for me pre -1950 guns that I own.

Love my 19 with maple stocks, although it does look good in dark wood also.

The stocks are interesting. 19 is super nice!
I would like some white TARGET stocks myself, but have not found the right thing. I just keep looking.
Do they have any identification marks on them? Bob

It took a while but I finally found the word ,elegant a very elegant firearm not in the fragile sense that comes to mind like elegant china but like in the way a top running back runs a 90 yard touchdown elegant but but certainly powerful and tough.

The only thing cooler than a model 19 are nickel finished model 19's, either with target, stag, or rams' horn stocks .

Are those white target stocks larger then the rosewood target stocks. They look bigger to me, but that might just be a single color looks bigger.
