Default K&N Frame Revolvers

Is it just my incorrect observation, or is the market softening a bit unless something is really special for this period?

I cannot say if it is or not but if it is it will be an opportunity for me to add a few more to the collection.

I really hope it is. I own a few K frames but they really don't do anything for me. Now N frames on the other hand I absolutely love.

I've seen the -2 N frames drop about $200.00 in the last 3 years. But of course it's probably a natural correction since they went up $500.00 3 years before that!

It also seems you can't sell anything for good money anymore unless it has the original box.

I think there is a generational shift of interest to newer Smith models, which certainly still include K and N frames. But I've noticed somewhat of a declining interest in pinned barrel models (pre 1982) and more interest in mid and later 1980s and 1990s models (that could also be price driven). There still seems to be animus against Metal Injection Molded parts guns and lock model guns, but that is changing too. All of this is good news for me, though, because the pinned barrel era defines my main collecting and shooting "patch."

It has been My experience at the gun shows I set up at most of the youngsters look at and buy the plastic guns. Last weekend I had a lot of lookers at S&W revolvers and Ruger revolvers and Colt 1911's. Then they went to the guy next to Me and bought plastic. I sold one revolver, He sold almost 80. Lowering My prices didn't help Me, but around the nation I think the plastic is driving down the real guns price. I won't lower My price anymore, I'll keep them.
