Default My new unfired 1968 Model 15 2"

I made a deal today for a unfired in the box Model 15 2'. It came with the original box, papers, tools, and a shipping memo dated 7-1-1968 shipping it to a Police officer in Independence Kansas.

Can I play too? This is my 15-3...my favorite snubby by far. I would understand if you don't want to shoot it and make it a "Safe Queen" but I can tell you that these Model 15 snubnose revolvers are amazing little shooters not to mention you will have a blast putting some lead downrange. You will be thoroughly impressed.

That gun was meant for YOU. By being on this forum, you demonstrate that you have an affection (affliction even?!) for S&W revolvers like many of us have.

Sadly, there are far more folks that just consider them “guns,” or have no feelings at all about them.

Luckily, we are not in either camp.

We recognize the fineness of older S&W revolvers and I’m sure you’ll agree, it sure is nice Smith & Wesson came into being in such a grand way!

Beautiful 15. Congratulations from Ohio as well!

Very nice find, and I like the J. B. Battle Uniform Co. receipt, brings back memories. They supplied our uniforms when I was with the Amarillo TX PD. They were custom made uniforms. They would come down take all your measurements and custom make and ship the uniform. They kept your sizes on file and when you needed new items, just call and they would make them to your measurements. You could also order S&W's from them. Just call/write and tell them what S&W you wanted, send a check, and they would mail it directly to your home. One I still have, and also the receipt for, is a Mod 66 2.5" from 1976. Price shipped to my home, no other charges listed, $149.00. If I would have only known then...................

Nice find! I enjoy shooting all my Combat Masterpiece revolvers, including my 2" 15-3 and my special order 5" from 1952.

Take that gem out and give it a workout. That's what it was made for.

July 1, 1968 gets in just under the wire as a Curio & Relic. I'd certainly shoot it if it were mine.

That's a beauty, and the 15's are special. A lot of people regard them as the finest revolvers S&W ever produced.

The 15 snub's are the most classic S&W, and they double as target guns.
