Default Who was Glenn Rich?

Saw a S&W 36, flat latch, pinned in barrel with the inscription, Glenn Rich 1962 engraved on it. Had good wood S&W 'diamond' stocks to. Serial Number 207xxx.

Was he a sheriff or just someone who had their name engraved on it?

Thanks.

Probably just someone that wanted his name on the revolver. Maybe he won it in a tournament, or it was presented to him at retirement or for some award.

Well $599 is pretty steep for a retirement piece. That is what the pawnshop wants for it!

Sounds like they are pricing it at double the value of a 'John Doe' stamped Chief's Special.

This sounds to be a good research project for the US Census database. Maybe Buddy's cousin .

You don't say where this pawn shop is located. I searched "Glenn Rich 1962," and one of the first responses was a link to one Glenn Rich's obituary. Reverend Rich died in 2012 in Kokomo, Indiana. He was ordained as a minister in 1962. In law enforcement, we call that a "clue" . . .

Well it's in Texas here. I guess it was some presentation piece but not someone like Texas Rangers 'Lone Wolf' Gonzaullas or Frank Hammer.

I came into a S&W with quite a bit of wear on it.....
Had a feller's name on it, turned out he had been a 'Sandy' pilot.

Glenn Rich married the wife and I in 1964 in kokomo In. I doubt very much if he ever owned a revolver.
