You won't see many model 28s that look unfired like that one.
Great score

Beautiful Model 28s! Kinda makes me think that I need one to accompany my 27-2

Love the dash 2's! My 4" 28-2 S304xxx is a shooter with honest holster wear and a smooth, smooth action.

Nice find. My very first magnum S&W was purchased new in early 1967 - serial # not far from yours. It's given me years of flawless service.

To the OP. Excellent photos! It would be nice to know the story behind your acquisition of this Model 28 Smith & Wesson.

The model 28 balances so well, congratulations on your fine revolver. Now its time for you to take it to the range and report about how nice your experience was with this revolver.

Don’t have much history on it. The guy I bought it from had it for about 3 years and never shot it. Doesn’t look like it’s seen very many rounds in it’s life.

I’ve had it to the range once along with a model 27 no dash 5”
Put a couple of dozen rounds through each they are both very nice to shoot.

I took my 1969 4" 28-2 to the range today. Great time...no problems. .357s were a handful with the magna grips.....38 specials felt like .22s.

My normal preference for most revolvers is 4", but somehow a 6" Highway Patrolman seems right. I have one of each, like them both.

Looks like it was fired once and put back in the safe. Very, very CLEAN! Mine was bought new and I added S&W target grips. I have the box, cleaning kit, and all paperwork. You'll love shooting your 28! Thanks for the pics.

My very first duty gun was a 6" 28 I bought in 1970. Used to tell all the bad guys it was a .44 mag, the most powerful handgun in the world---and will blow your head clean off. I still have that old gun. I shoots so well. I used to split playing cards on the range with it, just to show off.

I totally agree!
I am normally a 4" (or less) revolver fan, except when it comes to the N frames.
I have a couple of each (4" and 6" Model 28's) and have to admit I like the 6" better!
