Help With M27 Please
I picked up this 27-2, six inch, S# N32###, a few years ago.
About half of the bluing on the frame is mottled. Looks a little like oil stains on water. Too, bad. The pistol shows very little use. Maybe kept oiled in the presentation case too long by prevoius owner ? I felt like the price at the time reflected this.
While looking again at this one I am curious enough to ask the more knowledgeable members about it.
Has anyone seen something this before ? Thanks

give it a good cleaning, soak in ballistol a while, wipe down, maybe then polish it out with Ren wax. You may be surprised that it comes back to life if you haven't tried.

As the previous post stated.
It appears to be dissimilar cleaning agent or oils.
Use the same stuff.

My guess is that a very light buffing with some Flitz would most likely convert that splotchy look into shining blued consistency...

Yep, probably has a lot of silicon on there and its fighting against some gun oil. Keep cleaning with only one product .

I would try the soaking and waging before I would polish it. To me that looks like a last resort. as for silicone, I use nothing but pure silicone from Kelloggs in Sandusky, Ohio. Either the #110 or the #105, applied with real lambs wool. I have been using this since 1969, and have never had a discoloration. I do not use silicone with other agents in it. Also, NEVER have had a spot of rust appear

I am certainly fortunate to be able to ask opinions from you guys.
The Flitz worked to perfection. Almost no rubbing. It all came off easily. Deep blue at 100%.
