Default Custom 3 1/4" model 19 round but

This is a gun that my son has been working on for me. It started out as a 2 1/2" model 19-4, with a lot of finish missing. He took a 4" barrel and cut it down to 3 1/4". He had to fabricate the front sight with a base to fill in the slot from the old sight. It has his fine bead blast finish, case hardened target trigger and hammer and set of boot grips. So far it really shoots, I put 6 Federal 125 JPHs into 2" at 20 yards with it off-hand. It is easy to carry. He is not done shaping the front sight. I just bought a factory 3" barrel and might make another. Fun little gun, Shotgunner

That's a good looking blaster and some fine shooting. Enjoy.

Sir, where in the world did you find a factory 3" barrel? I thought they were scarcer than hens teeth.

It looks as if your son did a Great job on the model 19.

My son graduated from the GunSmithing school in Colorado, he is very good, especially at finishing. I am very proud of him. The 3" barrel turned up in a parts box, from a gun building PPC guns. I also got a lot of sights, hammers and triggers. I thought next time I might start with a square butt gun, and round it. Thank you for the kind words. Shotgunner

That's a classy revolver. You're right, your son is very good indeed.

I can't wait to see how your son finishes contouring the front sight. Were it me, I would slope it so that it more gradually blends into the barrel. Of course, I am very partial to 3-1/2 inch .357 S&Ws.

Regardless of what your son does with the front sight, that revolver is slicker 'n snail snot, sir. It would be one of the prides of my battery, that's for sure.
