Default New Addition - 1974 Masterpiece

Call it a barn find of sorts. I offered to help a friend who was recently widowed. I had no idea what her husband had for guns. This 1974 Masterpiece, 5", was among what she wanted to sell. It was dusty from being stored in a holster in the back of a closet. As soon as I took it out, I knew I had to have it to go with my 1954 I-frame, 2" Kit.

Nice gun, love the K38. I don't have the sharpest eyes, but it looks like a 6" to me.

It could be Bob, I was eye-balling..... It is so clean, with almost no wear or evidence of use. I could only dream that it was an earlier model, but I'm not greedy.

So I guess you got it.

Yep a 6", but a K22! No hammer nose rivet. And it has the firing pin frame retaining pin.

...I should say, both are .22LR. I still need to get an original set of grips for my little gun.

It should have diamond Magnas.

It's a New I frame so any Model of 1953 or later New I or new J frame grips will fit (they take the same size).

...and I just looked through the misc box of ammo and found the original S&W documentation, but sadly no box. And grips have been on my to-do list since 2013, so I will get to those.
