Kind of suspicious S&W 66 Pinned barrel
Snub 2 1/2 stainless. Guy in Austin wants $500.
It's on the TexasGuntraders board.
Here is a photo of it. Just sounds to good to be true.

As someone that buys and sells on Texas Guntrader a lot, yeah there are scammers on there. Just contact the guy. If he'll meet locally for a FTF he's legit. Just make sure you also see his photo ID and get a bill of sale. If he is not local tell him to go screw himself (Texas Gun Trader is a local only FTF board by city in Texas for those that don't know). Earl

Sometimes folks post guns for sale on the Gun Trader boards and have very little knowledge of their value. You can get a good deal, but they move QUICK!

Why complain about a good price... if you can buy it locally, put gas in the car and go get it. I buy guns all the time this way, all under the prices mentioned here as a good deal.

I have had at least 150 ftf meets. I was swindled only once, and that was because of a perfect storm of other garbage going on.

The story of being swindled would be compelling and maybe also share some insight in how others could avoid it?
I've done a handful of FTF's, but not a ton. All have gone smoothly. At the same time, if it is a completely low drag and super-easily accessible site (example: ArmsList) then I avoid it at all costs. I cannot stomach the problems that go hand in hand with ArmsList.
My FTF's have been through gun forums where at least the two parties have a searchable post history and joined-up date.
