I hit the "Like" button, I wish there was a "gimme a break button".
Boxed LNIB 29-2 is one of my biggest regret sales.

For me nothing beats that fabulous S&W nickel finish on post WW II guns. My collection is heavy with these post-war revolvers and I have an example of blue and nickel for all of them.

That's a beauty I'm jealous. I wonder why the son didn't want to keep it as a family heirloom. One day I will let each of my Grandchildren pick one firearm from my collection as their inheritance.

That is a time capsule beauty! Check out the chamfered cylinder front edge of yours compared to mine. Beautiful. I bought mine new in the early 80's.

Nice gun, photos are awesome. I am not a fan of the 8" barrels, but that gun would change my mind.

Very nice piece, enjoy it! That would not be too new for me. My 29 classic DX is 15 years newer than that and blued. Again, very nice! Be proud of that one

Yep. Most shipping boxes were thrown out or are missing. Who would have thought they would be desired all these years later? It really "made my day"!
I have 3 other S&W's with the shipping carton, and end label as well.

You've got every reason to be stoked
That's a beautiful gun, complete with presentation case, tools, paperwork and outer shipping box to boot!
Congrats!

There's a few more left in the lot. Rifles too. Family members are picking what they want as we speak.
The list I saw was generated in January. Some vague descriptions so I'm not sure what will be left after the family picks what the want to keep.
Get's one thinking about having a plan in place, when you're gone...

I'm generally not a big fan of nickel plated guns. But there is something about a nickel plated N Frame with an 8 3/8" barrel that makes me say "oh my".

At the moment it's an investment gun. I have others that I shoot. If the market takes a turn and the 29-2 values tank, I'll post a range report!

IMO, worth every cent of whatever you paid for it! The revolver is absolutely gorgeous and you got the boxes and display case to boot! It doesn't come any better than this.
